I started my health & fitness journey 20 years ago while training for body building competitions in college. I would go on to become a certified personal trainer, run marathons, teach indoor cycling classes, and eventually own a Crossfit gym with my husband for 6 years. We have 3 children who are now 12, 10, and 8 and all play baseball/softball!
Both my nutrition and type of exercise I enjoy has changed a lot over time. I spent a lot of years trying different “diets” and believing certain food groups were off limits. I spent some time believing I had to do early morning fasted cardio or an hour plus of high intensity workouts 5 days a week to maintain my fitness. As a mother of three, I don’t have time for that. It has been liberating to finally learn how nutrition and macros can work for me and build a healthy lifestyle that allows me to maintain a healthy weight and enjoy food without feeling deprived or guilty or spending hours at the gym every day. At 42, I am the healthiest, mind, body, and soul, that I have ever been.
As a former middle school math and science teacher, current NASM certified personal trainer and nutrition coach, I am excited to share my passion and knowledge of health and nutrition with others and get them on the path to wellness.
The mission of Macro Minded Life is to empower individuals to take control of their health by taking the mystery out of eating healthy through education and coaching. Some direct benefits experienced from changing their eating habits and implementing other healthy habits we discuss may include: less stress, more energy, less bloating, better sleep, less brain fog and improved self confidence (all without added supplements or products). We focus on overall health and wellness–mind, body, and soul–and in turn reduce stress and find that scale moving in the direction they desire.
I have created a 12 week Macro Minded Life program that covers 12 different topics that lead my clients to the healthy lifestyle they desire. This “macro” or “big picture” approach creates sustainable change resulting in lasting results. The goal is to enjoy the journey and not feel deprived or restriced! This program includes an online playbook that has everything they need throughout their journey: short daily videos of me presenting the content (5 videos a week), weekly dinner menus with a grocery list and ideas for healthy breakfast and lunch options, a beginner resistance training program, mindset encouragement, a daily habit tracker, weekly progress check, and my favorite devotional plans that support their journey if they choose to follow those as well. I also offer one-on-one zoom coaching to personalize their program to fit their lifestyle.
I truly enjoy helping people find happiness and satisfaction in a healthy lifestyle as they discover how good they can feel by shifting their lifestyle to one that supports health and wellness!
